Personality:
Noct's development through the game tells a story of a young boy who was once quite vibrant and outgoing who changes after tragedy touches him at a young age. The loss of his mother and the neglect of his father (although not intentionally as his father is King and must attend to his royal duties) brings Noctis, at present, withdrawn most of the time. Specifically, his change in demeanor comes after being attacked by a daemon named Marilith which left him gravely injured. As a prince of the realm he is expected to represent the renowned name of: Lucis Caelum; from his posture, countenance, mannerism, and the subjects of study he undertakes. Noctis is obligated to behave with an aristocratical presence.
He desires to please others closest to him. This gleans from royal obligations and from being a lonely boy. Noct developed maladaptive coping strategies to protect himself by running away and withdrawing when his responsibilities become overwhelming. At times when he is feeling insecure and reluctant to fulfill responsibilities some of his behaviors come off “spoiled” but derive from the need for self-preservation. Additionally, he also has demonstrated spoiled behavior around food, clothes, artifacts, collectables, games, etc. One of his favorite goals is to earn top score on video games; which means he has put a lot of time and effort in achieving to be the "best". Which is saying a lot considering this is a king in training, after all.
Noctis struggles with feeling confident due to his life-long authoritative figures around him delegating to him where to go, what to do, how to dress, behave, etc. So, when Noctis is alone and in charge of his party (the three dear friends who join him toward his ascension) he often struggles to make decisions and often relies on the council of his friends or others he comes across. (One of the game mechanics often gives the player the option to choose how Noctis will respond to a situation and one of the common options one may choose from is “ask your friends” which I believe helps back my above statement.
His father, Regis, was a strong influence on him and there were many important moments in his life where he felt inadequate to fulfill his father's shoes. Noctis recognizes he took some time to prepare for what would be his ultimate sacrifice and in the end he wished his father would be proud of him regardless the time he took to achieve his ascension. (This statement refers to end game characterization which basically after he goes into the crystal he comes out and it’s the end game battle..)
Although his friends are not of royal blood he treats them as if they were his brothers and does not demonstrate any prejudice toward them. In fact, he has quite a few rows with them in their journey where arguing ensues and sometimes they challenge him--particularly Gladio and he sometimes becomes distraught but eventually they come together again stronger for the squabble and with lessons learned.
When it comes to love interests, i.e. Gladio's sister Iris and Luna, he is tight lipped about his intentions and/or relationships. He receives a great amount of teasing from his friends about Luna and their arranged marriage. However, truth is he has been a long time friend of Lunafreya and of her family. The two have exchanged a journal between them in their years of knowing one another, which empowers their connection with each other. When dealing with Iris' obvious crush toward him, Noctis humors her with an “outing” (date-in Iris’ perception). Although, he plainly states she is like a sister to him—as she is to Ignis and Prompto. In fact, an important moment transpired between Iris and Noctis when they were young, he took the blame for behaving naughty and running away from the palace with Iris and insisted the young girl had naught a bit of wrongdoing in their shared adventure. This moment fostered not only a strong connection between himself and Iris but also Gladio as well.
As with the case with Iris, Noct has the ability to empathize with others; often in the game he has opportunities to help others, take on side quests, and demonstrate a willingness to help people not just because he needs gil (money) but because he’s genuine in his desire to help others. The desire to help others ranges from both adults, children, to animals as well. He’s seen helping people by the side of the road with their car broken down, to a young child with their collection of cactuars, to feeding a lonely feline.
Integration Questions
how will your character handle being assigned a leadership role:
Noctis will struggle with a leadership role, he will look to his friends for guidance, advice, direction, and with that he’ll be able to decide a direction. He will especially struggle with trying to lead in an unfamiliar world/setting/situation; which is basically this whole game— and I’m looking forward to these challenges.
I hope to see Noctis be able to grow from these experiences and learn his lack of confidence or apprehension in decision-making can/will/has cost lives and so that would be a great opportunity for growth.
how will your character handle being assigned an antagonist role:
Noctis will struggle being perceived as the bad guy, especially since he really wants people to like him, or in the very least, his friends to like him! He hates the idea of being a disappointment. However, this is where self-preservation comes in. If he must play the atagonist then he will do so to protect himself (and/or friends) so it becomes less about being the bad guy and more about “surviving”.
In another thought, he wouldn’t self-sacrifice or self-sabotage because he’s meant to play that atagonist role. Though, he may welcome the consequences of being the “bad guy”.
how will your character handle the implication that they’re not real / are a clone:
Pretty terribly. Noct doesn’t like the idea, whatsoever, that he’s not the “real” Noctis. Although he obviously has to face the fact that he’s not. However, given the fact that they are literally uploaded into this program for the “game” or means for “entertainment” for other people he’s got to know he’s only in denial.
Though, there is some small comfort that the real him isn’t really there having to put up with this (or so he hopes). He will question though, for a while, whether or not this was some form of the crystal’s doing (back in his world, after being absorbed by the crystal).

Nerf Details:
Noctis hasn’t reached the point of his “full potential” yet, in the game he spends 10 full years inside that crystal I keep bringing up. So, at this point, he’s strong but he’s not King-of-Kings strong. I will leave it up to you mods, however, like if his blood-given-right for his powers transcends through being uploaded to a program then great! If not, then whups! I honestly have no idea :D!
I will add a note: in Noct's world, his family was gifted with the power to "protect the crystal" (yas, the same one which ate him up) and so he's carrying this power in his blood, like a birth right given to him by the crystal, so he was born with the power. In my mind, this is how his friends (Ignis, Prompto, and Gladiolus) get their power as well. Which would work here in Uploaded; if you were to allow them to keep their powers. I used the TDM as if Noct didn't have powers but here I'm awaiting your decision! Either way I'm fine, of course.

"Noctis has grown up seeing his father as both a father figure and as the king of the country, so during the game he tries to grow as a person and develop with that image in mind with his father as a role model."—Hajime Tabata (as cited in wiki)
